Durban - A man was critically injured when he was struck with an axe near Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday, paramedics said.
“A report from the scene indicates that the man and a female were sitting behind a library when the incident occurred,” said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.
The man, who was believed to be in his thirties, was treated on scene and taken to the Umhlanga hospital.
Further details were not immediately available.
