More hand-written letters were presented as evidence against double murder accused Mathew Naidoo in the Durban High Court on Monday.

During cross examination, Naidoo admitted to writing the letters – unlike on Friday when he denied writing the “letters to God”.

Naidoo, 25, along with Lotter siblings Nicolette, 29 and Hardus, 23, are accused of killing Maria Magdalena “Riekie”, 52, and Johannes Lotter, 53 in their Westville, Durban home on July 19, 2008.

The writer of the letters expresses hatred towards his mother and claims the men in his family “lusted over Nicky because she was white”.

Naidoo told the court he did not hate his mother, who had been coming to all court proceedings and supported him throughout the trial.

The letters detail a growing animosity between the writer and Johannes Lotter and “prophesied” that he (Lotter) would die.

The trial continues. – Sapa
