Durban - One person died and 15 were injured in a collision between a minibus taxi and three cars in Kwadlangezwa on Saturday.

KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Service spokesman Robert Mckenzie, said three people were seriously injured while the rest sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Twelve patients were taken to hospital in nearby Empangeni.

Three were treated at the accident scene.

The details surrounding the cause of the accident were not immediately known and the authorities were investigating.
