Durban - An uMhlanga man is believed to have accidentally reversed his BMW sports utility vehicle into his swimming pool on Wednesday. The homeowner, who could not be reached for comment on Thursday, had been on his way to work.

East Coast Roadside Emergency Services tow truck driver, Dave Gilbert, was called out and took the photographs of the vehicle submerged in the water.

‘I am not sure what happened, but I do know the owner jumped out when the car went into the pool. He was unharmed. I used a flatbed tow truck to hoist the front wheels on to the paving before pulling it on to the truck. It took about 90 minutes,’ Gilbert said.

He believed the car was a write-off.
