Tzaneen - One person died and two others were injured in a “freak” accident on the R36 outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.

ER24 said paramedics were alerted to the accident scene on Tuesday evening.

“Paramedics discovered two bakkies parked on the side of the road. Three bodies lay in the middle of the road,” ER24 said.

“Paramedics were informed that the glass panes had been blown off the first bakkie and had then collided into the occupants in the back of the second bakkie, throwing the men off the moving vehicle.”

One of the injured was provided advanced life support before they were all taken to the Letaba Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

“Unfortunately, upon arrival at hospital, the critically injured patient succumbed to his injuries,” said ER24.
