Johannesburg - Nineteen people were injured on Tuesday morning when a truck collided with a tree on the Long Tom Pass in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, ER24 reported.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the large truck wedged up against a tree. The occupants that had been sitting on the back of the truck were found sitting and lying around the vehicle.

It is understood that the driver of the truck lost control, causing the vehicle to roll back and collide with the tree.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that they had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate,” ER24 said. “Fortunately no-one had sustained any serious injuries.”

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Mediclinic Nelspruit for further medical attention.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
