Nelspruit - Seven people died and three others were injured in a collision between a taxi and a truck on the R38 between Badplaas and Barberton in Mpumalanga on Tuesday evening, ER24 reported.

When ER24 paramedics and other emergency services arrived on scene they found people, some of whom were ejected from the taxi, lying all over the area. Some were found several metres away from where the incident occurred.

“Paramedics assessed all the people,”ER24 said. “Seven people, among them a child about three years old, were declared dead. Three others were assessed and treated for minor to moderate injuries. They were transported to hospital for further medical care.”

The exact cause of the collision was unknown but authorities were on scene for further investigations.
