Marikana - Police divers were still searching for a man who is feared dead in a local dam at Jericho outside Brits, North West police said on Friday.

“The search is still on. There are crocodiles in that dam. If he was eaten by crocodile at least there should be signs like blood,” said Captain Paul Ramaloko.

Zimbabwean national Gibson Mkhondo, 44, was reported missing on Saturday, by his friends.

“It is alleged that the victim went on an illegal fishing mission with his two friends at Klipvoor Borakalalo Game Reserve at around 11pm on Friday. The three went in the dam to lay their fishing nets, and Mkhondo did not return . It is suspected that he may have drowned.”

Divers have been searching for him since Sunday with no success.
