Rustenburg – There will be water supply interruption in some parts of the Bojanala district of the North West province on Tuesday, Magalies Water said.

“Magalies Water will experience interruptions in the water purification process due to an emergency Plant 3 shut down at the Vaalkop Water Treatment Plant. This is necessary to carry out emergency maintenance repairs on the 800DN raw water pipeline,” Magalies Water said in a statement.

The interruption was expected to end at noon.

“The shutdown means the Vaalkop water treatment plant will not be running at full capacity during this period.”

Water supply interruptions were expected to affect the Rustenburg, Moses Kotane and Thabazimbi local municipalities, as well as Royal Bafokeng Administration, Sun City and Rand Water.

Moses Kotane local municipality spokeswoman Beauty Makganye said the municipality received an urgent notice of water supply interruptions, and urged communities to make necessary arrangements.
