Cape Town - On the day of former president Nelson Mandela’s funeral, the Royal Cape Yacht Club cancelled all races and instead sailed round Robben Island in tribute to the statesman.
Once anchored off the island, the sailors stood to attention on their boats as the national anthem was played over VHF radio. They threw flowers into the sea and said farewell to Madiba.
