Cape Town - A man was seriously injured after he lost control of his vehicle on the M5 highway near Rondebosch, in Cape Town, on Thursday, ER24 reported.

The vehicle was found by ER24 and other services, lying on its roof on an armco barrier between the north and south bound lane. The 35-year-old man was found trapped in the vehicle and Metro Rescue and Fire and Rescue Services was called upon to free him from the wreckage. He was assessed and found to be in a serious condition and treated on the scene before being transported to hospital.

The cause of the accident was unknown but authorities were on scene for further investigations.
