Cape Town - A man last seen climbing over the Cape Town International airport fence was found dead in a British Airways plane in London, the Airports Company SA (Acsa) said on Thursday.

“Reports from London's Heathrow airport confirmed that a stowaway was found on board a British Airways aircraft. The person was found dead,” spokeswoman Deidre Davids said.

She said the man climbed over the fence and ran towards a runway where the British Airways plane was in its holding position, ready for take-off.

For safety reasons the security officer who saw him could not approach the aircraft. Acsa said it would investigate. - Sapa
