Cape Town - A toddler rescued from a pool at a Milnerton house has died in hospital at the weekend in what has been the second reported incident in as many months.

ER24 spokesman, Chitra Bodasing, said paramedics were contacted on Saturday evening and upon arrival found the toddler, believed to be about 18 months old, in the driveway.

“It is understood people found the child lying face down in the pool. They took him out of the pool and contacted paramedics for assistance,” Bodasing said.

The boy was assessed and found to be unresponsive.

Paramedics performed CPR on the little boy immediately but despite all efforts, “the child sadly died upon arrival at hospital”.

Saturday’s incident comes a month after a two-year-old Kenwyn toddler and the family’s 57-year-old domestic worker drowned in the family swimming pool.
