Cape Town - Doctors are happy with the progress Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is making.

Tutu’s daughter, Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu, said on Monday that her father’s treatment was proceeding well, and doctors and the family were very pleased with his progress.

She was speaking in Cape Town after His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho visited her father in hospital on Monday morning.

“This good news is thanks to his dream team of doctors, the warm diligence of an exceptional nursing team and the power of the prayers and well-wishes of so many people around the world.

“On behalf of my dad and family, I cannot thank you all enough,” Mpho said.

Last week, she said the her father was not bedridden, and was able to walk around despite being in the middle of an intensive two-week course of intravenous treatment.

Tutu was admitted two weeks ago, the third time since last month.
