Cape Town - A man in his 50s and woman in her 60s were killed on Friday in a collision between a vehicle and a motorbike on Sir Lowry’s Pass near Gordon’s Bay, ER24 reported.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found a SUV lying on its side in the middle of the road. A motorcycle lay a few metres away with the body of the rider lying next to it.

“On assessment, paramedics discovered that both the motorcycle driver as well as the driver of the SUV had sustained fatal injuries in the collision,” ER24 said. “Unfortunately nothing more could be done for both patients.”

Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to later free the deceased driver from the SUV.

The cause of the collision was not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
