Tokyo - A Japanese father was arrested on Monday after four children were found dead in his fire-devastated home in southern Japan, news reports said.
The 40-year-old navy officer allegedly set fire to his house in Kitsuki city on the island of Kyushu early on Monday where his wife and eight children lived, public broadcaster NHK reported.
Police were in the process of confirming the identity of the bodies, which are believed to belong to four of his children, the report said.
The father has admitted to charges of arson, NHK reported, citing local police officials.
