Tokyo - A 64-year-old Japanese man was arrested on Monday for punching a baby in a stroller, a report said.

The man said he did it because he was “angry at the pushchair, which got in the way” on an underground walkway in Tokyo on Saturday, Jiji Press reported.

The one-year infant was not injured and the man was overpowered by the child’s father, the report said.

Young fathers taking care of babies are a more common sight these days in Japan, a country with a falling birth rate and an ageing population.
