Sydney - A Nigerian-born Australian man will appear in a Sydney court on Wednesday after allegedly importing 30 kilograms of methamphetamine in skipping ropes, dresses, air compressor units and engine parts.

Australian authorities executed search warrants in Sydney’s west on Tuesday following a four-month investigation in which Australian Border Force officers intercepted consignments, allegedly addressed to the man, among others, which contained methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”.

The Australian Federal Police said total weight of the haul was 30 kilograms, a potential street value of up to 20 million Australian dollars (14.64 million US dollars).

A number of items were located while police executed the search warrants, including fraudulent driver’s licenses, a number of mobile phones, additional illicit substances, drug paraphernalia and 3 500 Australian dollars (2 562 US dollars) in cash, authorities confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.
