London - Two men pleaded not guilty to the brutal murder of a British soldier on a London street when they appeared in court on Friday.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, appeared by videolink from prison to deny murdering Lee Rigby in Woolwich, southeast London, on May 22.

Rigby's widow broke down in tears and sobbed as the video was broadcast in a packed courtroom at the Old Bailey court in London.

Both men also denied attempting to murder a police officer on May 22, the day of Rigby's death, and conspiracy to murder a police officer on or before that day.
