Tel Aviv - A 13-year-old Palestinian boy died after being shot in the head by a rubber bullet, which caused bleeding in his brain, the Palestinian Health Ministry said overnight.

The death brought to 13 the number of Palestinians from the West Bank killed in an outburst of violence since October 1, the ministry said.

At least half of the victims were shot dead while during knife attacks against Israelis.

Four Israelis have been stabbed to death.

The other Palestinian victims were killed in clashes with Israeli soldiers, who have used live ammunition, rubber bullets and teargas to disperse demonstrators throwing stones and petrol bombs at soldiers and civilian motorists.

Another 11 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, including a pregnant mother and her two-year-old daughter who died in an Israeli air strike on Sunday.
