He is known for his outrageous claims and monstrous ego, but rapper Kanye West surpassed himself at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday – grandly announcing his intention to run for US president in 2020.
West, who is married to Kim Kardashian, sparked dozens of satirical memes on social media after his rambling, 13-minute speech on Sunday, in which he said: “It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth... And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
He admitted though that he had "rolled up a little something earlier in the night”.
