Kathmandu -
A woman was killed by a rhinoceros in Makwanpur district in central Nepal, local media reported on Monday.
The rhino, believed to have come from nearby Chitwan National Park, entered a marketplace in Hetauda city and went on a rampage, according to Image Channel.
Six other people were injured in the attack, police said.
Efforts were underway to tranquilise the animal so it could be relocated to the forest.
It is common for rhinos to enter the settlements bordering Nepal's forests, especially during the winter and dry seasons.
Rhinos are known to destroy crops, and they sometimes attack people.
There are 534 rhinos in Nepal, with 503 of them living in Chitwan National Park.
