The iStore today announced it will offer South Africans the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus beginning on October 24.

Customers can pre-register immediately for the phones at http://myistore.co.za/iphonesignup/

If you are ready for an upgrade, you know by now that the two phones have received generally favourable reviews from tech writers.

The iPhone 6 offers a 4.7-inch screen, while the 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen.

James Vincent of The Independent in London says which one you get depends on what you use it for.

“If you mainly use it for, you know, making calls, sending texts and a bit of light entertainment ... then you’re probably better off sticking with the iPhone 6,” he wrote.

“If you tend to do a lot of work on your iPhone (sorting through a mass emails for example) or are a keen photographer then it’s definitely worth thinking about the 6 Plus.”

Hayley Tsukayama of the Washington Post summed up the benefits of the iPhone 6 Plus as better for watching video; better for taking video; roomier web browsing; and a better battery life. – Staff Reporter
