London – It has become the must-have accessory for mobile phone users who love to take photos of themselves.

Now, the selfie stick is getting bigger – so fans can pose for their self-portraits using heavy tablet computers.

The supersized version comes with an attachment which can grip devices such as iPads, a reinforced shaft and a remote control. It will allow users to see themselves in more detail as they are taking a photo, or make it easier to include themselves in large group pictures.

The device is available on the website Accessory Geeks for £16, suggesting it could soon be released on the high street.

‘The durable selfie stick is built strong, so your tablet or phone will be safe and secured in the air when you are taking a selfie,’ the website says. ‘No matter where you may be, you are sure to get everyone and neighbouring surroundings in the picture.’
