London - Almost one in two of us keep an old mobile phone just so we can use it as a photo album.

About 49 percent said they had at least one old device they powered up simply to browse through the pictures and videos stored on it.

And 38 percent said they did so at least once a year, according to a poll of 1 000 Britons for digital scrapbook firm Memeoirs.

Many phone-owners hoard photos because they have no idea how to download them - or are simply overwhelmed by the huge number of snaps on their gadget.

Fred Rocha of Memeoirs said: “We value the contents enough to hold on to the phones - but not enough to take time out of our busy lives to download and process the photos on them.”

However, 52 percent still dust off their physical photo albums at least once a year. - Daily Mail
