London – Almost 11 000 umbrellas were lost on the London transport system over the past year.

But this might be a thing of past soon, thanks to the arrival of Kisha – the world’s first smart umbrella.

The Kisha umbrella is bluetooth-enabled and has its own app.

What that means is that it will tell you when you’ve accidentally left it on the bus or in a restaurant!

Kisha links up with the app (available for Android and iPhones) and is aware of your location, notifying you when you’ve moved too far from your beloved brolly.

But you can also set safe zones such as your car or home so you aren’t reminded unnecessarily you’ve forgotten to take it with you.

And as if that’s not enough, the app lets you know what the weather forecast is for the day ahead and advises you whether you should pop Kisha in your handbag or leave it behind at home.

Its makers say it is 100 per cent windproof and corrosion-proof, with a seamless opening and closing mechanism – and with a three-year warranty, you may never need another umbrella again.
