Los Angeles - Retail bookseller Barnes & Noble and electronics maker Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook on Wednesday in New York.

The two companies collaborated on the latest 7-inch (17.8cm) reading tablet.

The Samsung Nook sells for $179 (about R2 000) at Barnes & Nobles stores and online.

The gadget comes with more than 200 dollars in free content from the NOOK Store including books, TV shows and magazines, the statement said.

The Android-run tablet features a camera 1.3 megapixel camera on the front and 3.0 megapixel in the rear.

“We've taken our bestselling Samsung Galaxy tablet and made it the best tablet available for reading and entertainment,” said Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America in the statement. - Sapa-dpa
