London - If you had a sneaking suspicion the ice bucket challenge was less about charity and more about celebrity posturing, this may give you an uneasy feeling of deja vu.

The stars’ latest viral craze is to take a ‘selfie’ from their beds.

Naomi Campbell, Claudia Winkleman, Nigella Lawson, Jemima Khan and Kelly Brook are among those who have photographed themselves apparently just after waking up.

The images have been posted online in a ‘wake-up call’ campaign for Unicef to raise awareness and donations. But cynics may detect a whiff of vanity because many of the shots do not seem entirely natural.

Miss Campbell’s snap could pass for one of her professional photoshoots, with a flattering camera angle and perfect lighting. She also appears to be wearing make-up. Miss Winkleman’s eyes look rimmed with black liner and Unicef ambassador Miss Khan, who started the trend, took the time to put on a necklace.

Miss Khan wrote on Twitter that the campaign aims to “wake people up to the crisis for Syrian children”. It follows the ice bucket challenge, which saw celebrities film themselves pouring buckets of ice and water over their heads in the name of worthy causes. - Daily Mail
