London - If you thought social networks in their present form were awful enough, steel yourself for TweetVox - Twitter with sound.

While tweets consist of messages of no more than 140 characters, TweetVox - just launched in London - is encouraging users to create audio clips no longer than 120 seconds in length.

These are then posted to Facebook and Twitter for friends to respond to with their own witterings.

Users will also be able to upload “location specific” audio-clips.

The creators describe it as “giving a voice to a place”. So, on visiting a museum or art gallery, users can exchange reviews or tips on what to see, while a road trip through America might see users uploading a snippet of the Dionne Warwick song Do You Know The Way To San Jose?
