British gamer Daniel Middleton has unseated PewDiePie as the most watched YouTube channel with an eye-watering 402 million views for the month of July. Middleton’s The Diamond Minecart channel claimed the top spot ahead of WWE wrestling, Little Baby Bum, BuzzFeed, Taylor Swift and PewDiePie, according to analytics firm OpenSlate and TubeFilter.

PewDiePie, however, retains the lead for the largest number of channel subscribers at 38,6 million.

The Diamond Minecart pipped WWE to the top spot. That channel had 399 million views.

A channel dedicated to a nursery-rhymes collection, Little Baby Bum, was third with 391m views.

Buzzfeed's 382 million views and Taylor Swift's 381 million views rounded out the top five.

Sixth place went to PewDiePie who chalked up 373 million views. In previous month PewDiePie has led the charts by a significant margin making the sudden rise of Middleton, WWE and Buzzfeed even more impressive.
