If you ever lose your cool when you forget a password, don’t worry – you’re not alone.

Soaring numbers of frustrated computer users have confessed they are driven to spectacular displays of anger when their memory fails them, a report has found.

Research shows a third of us admit to suffering from ‘password rage’, with many of us driven to crying, banging our head on the desk, screaming and swearing.

A survey by identity management firm Centrify found a quarter of people forget a password for an online account at least once a day, with one in 20 admitting to forgetting a password all the time.

Only 22 percent claimed they never forget their passwords. And the report found your office is likely to suffer your password woes with you, with one in six admitting they scream or shout if they cannot remember a password and one in seven moaning at work colleagues.

People also admitted to crying, running off and slamming the door, swearing and banging their head on the desk. Two percent said they even disappear off to the pub.

Previous research by Centrify found a quarter of UK consumers have more than 21 active online accounts, with 42 percent saying they set up a new one at least once a week. – Daily Mail
