Washington - America is trying to introduce rules that would allow it to hack into any computer in the world, Google claims.
The internet giant raised the alarm after the American department of justice set out proposals to hand extra powers to the FBI when it applies for search warrants.
The department of justice wants the FBI to be able to search information on computers that have hidden their geographical location using encryption technology.
But Google said it would mean the US could search people’s computers anywhere in the world, whether they were linked to America or not.
The company has called on the US Congress to vote on the proposal, which it said raises ‘monumental and highly complex’ concerns.
