Johannesburg - Top road runner Mpho Mabuza is hoping for a successful title defence at the ATKV Buffelspoort to take on the much anticipated FNB Platinum Trail Run on Sunday.

In 2014 Mabuza completed the women’s 24km FNB Platinum Trail Run in a time of one hour 53 minutes.

“The ladies were very competitive,” says Mabuza.

“It was a challenging race. I’m a road runner, so for me the course was really tough with lots of rocks. The hills were also challenging, but I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very different to that of road races, it was fantastic. I’ll definitely recommend this event to road runners. Come have fun, while experiencing the beauty that nature has to offer. I will be really happy with a podium position”.

Defined by its exclusivity and terrain, trail runners can look forward to experiencing some of the best trails on offer in the area. Each entrant will receive an awesome goody bag that will include an event t-shirt, while medals will be awarded to all finishers.
