The bizhub Highveld Lions announced the team’s leadership for the 2015/16 season. These individuals have been appointed to lead the team in the various domestic competitions that they will take part in.

Bizhub Highveld Lions Chairman Thabang Moroe said: “We have taken the experience from the past few seasons. Through this the Board has implemented a Captaincy structure that not only secures the depth of leadership within the franchise but also ensures that we give as many quality opportunities to players showing promise.

This whilst still ensuring that the team on the field has the knowledge and expertise to guide them to many more match winning performances.”

Head Coach Geoffrey Toyana expressed his confidence in his group of players. “Changes to the contracted players leading up to the season has given the opportunity to re-evaluate the captaincy of the team and I am confident that those that have been appointed will rise to the occasion when required.

Expertise in the various formats ensures that we are ready for whatever the conditions might require of someone in the position of Captain on the day. The team has fought hard to bring the Sunfoil Series trophy back home after 15 years and we are not about to let go of it again. That was an ideal end to the previous season but our focus is to rather add some more silverware to it,” Toyana added.

The Leadership for the franchise for the 2015/16 season is as follows:

Sunfoil Series

Captain: Stephen Cook

Vice-Captain: Dominic Hendricks

Momentum One Day Cup

Captain: Stephen Cook

Vice-Captain: Thami Tsolekile

Ram Slam T20

Captain: Thami Tsolekile

Vice-Captain: To be confirmed at a later stage
