Johannesburg - Christiaan Jonker smashed an unbeaten half-century as the Warriors coasted to an eight-wicket victory over the Cobras in Cape Town on Thursday, securing themselves a home playoff in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.

Jonker smashed 64 not out off 39 balls - his fourth career T20 half-century - as the Warriors made 130/2 to reach their target with more than six overs to spare on the Duckworth-Lewis system.

The opener was well supported by Colin Ingram, who made 45 from 22 deliveries, as the pair shared an 82-run stand for the second wicket.

Owais Shah had led an all-round, albeit unimpressive, performance for the Cobras after the hosts lost the toss and were sent in to bat.

Shah hit 33 not out off 29 balls as the home side reached 128/5 from their 19 overs, with the length of the match reduced after rain delayed the start and disrupted the first innings.

The Warriors bowlers combined well, spearheaded by Rusty Theron, who returned 2/35, to restrict the Cobras batsmen from building solid partnerships.

Having finished second in the T20 Challenge standings, the Warriors will face the Titans, who placed third, in the semi-final playoff in East London next week. - Sapa
