Johannesburg – The One Day Cup match between the Titans and the Knights at Willowmoore Park in Benoni was called off after 19 overs had been bowled on Sunday.

The Titans were 45 for three with Henry Davids (25), Heino Kuhn (5) and Theunis de Bruyn (8) all struck in their short stays at the wicket.

The umpires together with match referee Barry Lambson consulted after 19 overs and decided the pitch had become too unpredictable and unsafe for further play.

It was unclear at this stage whether the points would be shared or if the Titans would be deducted points with the match being played on their home ground.

The pitch did not appear to be unusual in colour, but there were uneven areas which produced extremely inconsistent bounce.

Earlier, the Knights had won the toss and chose to bowl first. – Sapa
