Durban – The third day of the domestic four-day clash between the Dolphins and Titans has been delayed due to a wet outfield at Kingsmead in Durban on Friday.

Umpires Ian Howell and Gerrie Pienaar will return for an inspection at 11.00am when an early lunch will also be taken.

There had been no play possible on the opening two days – the first due to a wet outfield and the second because of heavy rain early on Thursday.

However, bright sunshine and blue skies greeted the officials on Friday, although there was little they could do about the muddy patches around the field, particular inside the square and on the boundaries.

The match was brought a day forward to ensure it concludes by Saturday as a mark of respect for former president Nelson Mandela, whose funeral will take place on Sunday. – Sapa
