Cape Town - Cape Cobras coach Paul Adams confirmed on Thursday his team suffered another injury setback as George Linde sustained a fracture to a finger on his bowling hand ahead of their Ram Slam T20 match against the Titans at Newlands on Friday. Two weeks ago, the Cobras lost the services of their former South African left-arm spinner Robin Peterson due to a fractured finger. Siya Simetu, talented left-arm spinner of the Cobras, will replace Linde.

The latter struck four times in the win against the Knights and will be sorely missed.

Adams said the Cape Cobras have not had the perfect game yet, and they are searching for that superb game that would lift them to the summit of the log. An area that is still a work in progress, is the middle-period between the seventh and the 11th over.

Opening batsman Richard Levi has given them some superb starts. “We have had a lapse of form,” Adams said.

Although the coach was not quick to name a player, Omphile Ramela has not yet reproduced the form that made him such a run-scoring machine in the second half of the 2014/2015-season.

Adams said the fast bowler Rory Kleinveldt, who did not take part in the win against the Dolphins at SuperSport Park due to a virus, is fit and strong. His performance in tandem with Wayne Parnell and Dane Paterson might be key in forcing the implosion of the strong batting line-up of the Titans on Friday. - African News Agency (ANA)
