Durban – India hit back claiming three wickets in the morning session on day three as South Africa moved to 181 for three at lunch on Saturday, during the second and final Test at Kingsmead, in Durban.

South Africa resumed on 82 for no loss and it took 7.1 overs for the addition of 23 runs before the first wicket fell. Graeme Smith's attempted loft was miscued for Shikhar Dhawan to take a great catch, running full speed through midwicket, for Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss the Proteas skipper for 47.

Hashim Amla was next to depart as his poor run of form in the series continued. Mohammed Shami got the ball to come back in to the right hander, and Amla was bowled for three off the final delivery of the over.

Amla's dismissal brought Jacques Kallis to the crease in his final Test match. The crowd gave the 166-Test veteran a standing ovation, while the Indian players formed a guard of honour for him.

Kallis will be ending his career in whites on the ground where he made his Test debut, against England, in 1995.

However, he could only but watch from the other end as a wicket fell at the other end upon his arrival in the middle.

Alviro Petersen was gone for a well-played 62, edging Jadeja to Murali Vijay at slip.

At lunch, Kallis was unbeaten on 26 and AB de Villiers on 39. – Sapa
