Potchefstroom – Farhaan Behardien top-scored with a fighting knock of 70 as South Africa struggled to 204 all out in 49.3 overs against New Zealand in the second One Day International, at Senwes Park, in Potchefstroom, on Sunday.

The hosts were in heaps of trouble early at 20 for two, with openers Hashim Amla and Morne van Wyk both departing cheaply.

It was a struggle throughout the innings as the batsmen battled to put partnerships together, demonstrated by the seventh-wicket stand of 54 between Behardien and Vernon Philander (30 not out) being the highest.

Pick of the bowlers for New Zealand was Doug Bracewell who claimed 3/31 from his 10 overs.

Brief scores: SA 204 all out after 50 overs (Behardien 70, Rossouw 39, Bracewell 3/31, Adam Milne 2/39)

Toss: Won by South Africa
