Adelaide, Australia – Australia scored 144 for six off their 20 overs after winning the toss in the opening Twenty20 international against South Africa at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.

The Proteas bowling and fielding kept the Australians under pressure with Shane Watson topscoring with 47 off 36 balls and James Faulkner hitting an unbeaten 41 off 33 balls.

Paceman Kyle Abbott was the pick of the South African bowlers with three for 21 off four overs. – Sapa-AFP
