Cape Town – South Africa won the toss and chose to field in the second Test against Pakistan at Newlands, in Cape Town, on Thursday.

South Africa lead the three-Test series 1-0.

Captain Graeme Smith takes to the field at the helm of the Proteas for the 100th time. The milestone he celebrated in the previous Test included his captaincy of a World XI side against Australia in 2005.

Th South African team remains unchanged from the first Test while Pakistan have made two changes to their side.

Tanvir Ahmed replaces injured Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan, the quick bowler who stands at over seven feet tall, makes his Test debut in place of Rahat Ali.
