The Proteas will play three T20 Internationals against the West Indies - on January 9, 11 and 14.

Prior to the game at Kingsmead KFC Mini-Cricket kids from Eden College will take on the Proteas in a warm up to the big game. People are encouraged to get to the Wanderers early and watch what should be a fun-filled game between our current bunch of Proteas and tomorrow’s potential national cricketers.

The KFC T20 Internationals provide a terrific opportunity for KFC Mini-Cricket kids from around the country to get actively involved in these matches, escorting the players onto the field, participating in the coin toss and being ball boys and girls on the boundary ropes.

In addition to this KFC Mini-Cricket kids are going to play in curtain raisers to the KFC T20 Internationals. KFC Mini-Cricket launched a competition where kids from all over the country stood the chance to play in a curtain raiser to the KFC T20 Internationals. Three winners have won the opportunity and you will be able to watch them play if you get to the games early.

As associate sponsors in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge, KFC endorses the reason why they are involved in KFC Mini-Cricket and that is to encourage kids to live active lifestyles. Here the same opportunities for player involvement occur on a more frequent basis allowing more and more kids to get active in the major stadiums around the country.

The kids are chosen at the 16 KFC Mini-Cricket festivals held around the country and from the runners up to the KFC Mini-Cricket kids vs Proteas tour matches. The kids chosen from the 16 KFC Mini-Cricket festival are chosen from the quickest school teams to complete course in the action zones. The drills run in the action zones have been chosen to assist the kids to learn basic cricketing skills.

Five lucky readers can win a ticket for themselves and a partner to see the Proteas face The West Indies at Kingsmead Stadium, Durban, Wednesday, January 14, in the first of three T20 Internationals.
