Nelson, New Zealand – Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl in the Cricket World Cup Pool A match against Scotland at Saxton Oval.

The match offers Bangladesh a chance to take a major step towards the tournament quarterfinals.

After a 105-run win over Afghanistan, a 92-run loss to Sri Lanka and a washed-out match against Australia, Bangladesh has three points and sits in fourth place in its group. A win over Scotland would leave it in competition with England for a quarterfinal place.

Scotland is still seeking its first-ever win at a World Cup after losing to New Zealand by three wickets, England by 119 runs and Afghanistan by one wicket.

Bangladesh has won all three previous, completed one-day internationals between the teams.

Scotland, which won the last Twenty20 meeting between the teams, named an unchanged lineup, with an attack led by pace bowlers Iain Wardlaw, Josh Davey and Alasdair Evans.

Bangladesh named Nasir Hossain in place of Mominul Haque as it placed more emphasis on spin bowling.

Lineups:

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mamdullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain.
