London – England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to bat against Australia in the second Ashes Test at Lord's on Thursday.

Ashes-holders England made one change from the side that won the first Test at Trent Bridge by just 14 runs on Sunday with Tim Bresnan replacing Steven Finn after the fast bowler was left out on his Middlesex home ground.

Australia made two changes, with Usman Khawaja replacing Ed Cowan, who made scores of nought and 14 at Trent Bridge and was twice out to loose drives.

Meanwhile, experienced seamer Ryan Harris replaced left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc, who lacked control at Trent Bridge.

After the toss, the teams lined up outside the Lord's Pavilion to be presented to be presented to Queen Elizabeth II, monarch of both Britain and Australia.
