Wellington - Kane Williamson continued his golden run of form with his sixth one day international century as New Zealand posted an imposing 369 for five in their second match against Pakistan at McLean Park in Napier on Tuesday.
Williamson, who stroked his way to 112 from 88 balls, has scored 753 runs in 11 innings at an average of 75.3 since the beginning of December. He has passed 50 12 times in 19 innings in the last 13 months.
The 24-year-old also combined in a 128-run partnership with Martin Guptill (76) and 79-runs with Ross Taylor (102 not out), both of whom had been struggling to make big scores but have come into form just in time for the World cup starting next week.
Taylor, who scored 59 not out in the seven wicket win in the first match in Wellington on Saturday, brought up his 12th one-day century off the final delivery. It was the 100th ODI century by a New Zealand batsman.
The 30-year-old also scored 72 runs from 45 balls with Grant Elliott (28) as the hosts made the second-highest score at Napier. They scored 373-8 against Zimbabwe in 2012.
The match is the last official game both sides will play before the Feb 14-March 29 World Cup, though they have scheduled warm-up clashes against other sides in the next 10 days.
