Johannesburg – South Africa's Tim Clark will miss the Masters next week after he failed to recover from an elbow injury in time.

The player’s agent made the announcement on Wednesday evening, just over a week before the event begins.

The number four SA player in the World had not played since the first week of January after the injury flared up.

The 39-year-old from KwaZulu Natal, however, was exempt for the first Major of the year through his win in the RBC Canadian Open late last year.

The two-time South African Open champion will likely have few opportunities to tee it up in the Majors again, even is he does recover from his current injury, with the ban on anchored putting coming in on January, 2016.

Clark was born with a birth defect which does not allow him to rotate his forearms properly and make using a conventional putter almost impossible. – ANA
