London – British police are searching for a London Marathon runner who has not been seen since finishing the race.

The Metropolitan Police says Mamie Konneh-Lahun was due to fly home to Sierra Leone on Monday but did not return to her temporary accommodation in the Greenwich district of London on Sunday. Police say the 24-year-old athlete had been staying at the accommodation since last Monday.

She was not in the elite race, but finished seventh in the category for general runners in a time of 2 hours, 46 minutes, 20

seconds.

Police announced early Monday that Konneh-Lahun was missing, then said in the afternoon that she had been found but later issued a correction to say officers were still trying to find her.

Police say she has “no known links to the UK” and didn't have a mobile phone. – Sapa-AP
