Canberra, Australia - The ACT Brumbies dominated from the opening minutes and went on to defeat the Melbourne Rebels 37-10 Saturday to move into top-six playoff territory in Super Rugby.
Leading 25-3 at halftime, Matt Toomua scored two tries to lead the Brumbies to their ninth win in 14 matches and into second place in the Australia conference, three points behind New South Wales. The Waratahs beat the Hamilton, New Zealand-based Chiefs 33-17
earlier Saturday.
With three regular-season rounds to be played after a three-week break for international matches, the Brumbies are in fourth place in the overall standings.
