Coach Allister Coetzee remains confident the Stormers will finish their tour of Australasia on a high when they face the Western Force in a Super Rugby clash in Perth on Saturday.

This despite the Stormers taking another injury knock in the build-up to their last overseas game, when loose forward Nick Koster was sent home with a knee injury on Wednesday.

“Despite the injuries, the touring group is in high spirits and is very motivated,” Coetzee said. “Our motto for the week is: nothing special has ever been achieved in ideal conditions.”

Earlier in the week, Gio Aplon and Duane Vermeulen had been sent home injured, and while they were replaced by Don Armand and centre Berton Klaasen, Western Province Rugby did not name a replacement for Koster.

The Stormers have won two of their three matches on tour thus far, leaving them well placed in second position in the overall standings.

“A win this week will be the difference between a good tour and a great one and this group knows that,” Coetzee said.

“Our sessions this week have been excellent and we will be going all out for a win in this game.” – Sapa
